In January 2025, this year’s symposium of the Nordic Society for Aerosol Research took place in Aarhus, Denmark.
Around 140 participants and manufacturers of measurement and aerosol technology met for a professional exchange at the Institute of Chemistry at Aarhus University.
Numerous specialist presentations dealt with, among other things, aerosol formation from organic sources, the effects of aerosol processes on ecosystems and current research on aerosol-cloud interaction in the Arctic. The lecture program was accompanied by a big poster presentation in which researchers presented their work and exchanged ideas with the participants.
In his opening speech, Professor Jonas Elm joked about the variety of clouds locally in Aarhus, which also showed condensation on particles in a practical way. Students and researchers from the Center for Chemistry of Clouds accompanied the symposium both professionally and organizationally with tireless commitment. In addition to the scientific program, the Icebreaker evening in the exhibition area, and the conference dinner invited participants to meet each other and to dive into deeper technical discussions.
Next year, Sweden will take over the organization of the NOSA symposium.
